Family Photo

As an experienced independent professional photographer, I specialise in relaxed “lifestyle” portraits of families. What exactly does lifestyle photography mean? It means simply that the natural, outdoor world is my studio and you can therefore choose any location you like.  It offers an alternative to the white walled studio imagery and means you can incorporate a backdrop that is special to your family. So why not get some fresh air, have a fun day out as a family and come away with some beautiful, informal images?!

And please don’t worry about the weather either, hopefully it will be kind, but if it is pouring with rain then I am happy to shift the appointment to another date. Overcast or foggy weather is ideal; sunny is fine if a little tricky to photograph in, which is why I like to shoot early or late in the day to get the best light.

For those who can’t think of a suitable location then we can use the grounds at Parndon Mill or I also offer my popular Portrait Days where I select a really special location and do a number of 45 minute photo shoots. The final Portrait Day of 2010 is on Sunday September 26, in the beautiful grounds of Down Hall Country House Hotel in Hatfield Heath.  The shoot is completely free (normal price £75), but as this location is popular, I do ask for a refundable booking fee of £25, which will be offset against the cost of any orders or refunded if no purchases are made. An outdoor photo shoot is a wonderful way for your family to spend some quality time together in a beautiful location, Away from the confines of a studio I am able to capture everyone relaxing and having fun. 

Price wise I charge £75 for a location photo shoot within 20 miles of Harlow (payable on booking), and prints are charged extra. Typically I find that people want to invest between £300 to £1,000 on their photographs. There is no obligation to buy, and I promise you I won’t try to hard sell portraits to you. Shoots last about 2-3 hours (toddler shoots are shorter).

After your portrait photo shoot I will invite you back to view. Your images will be projected onto a large screen in order that you can choose your favourites and I guarantee that you won't be subjected to a hard sell! It’s always a good idea to discuss between yourselves prior to the viewing the sizes that your might require your portraits to be, and any gift purchases you may wish to make for family & friends.

I request that partners attend together as I don't make any proofs and it's usually impossible for one partner to make all the decisions!
